On August 9, it was learned from Zhengzhou Metro Group that, through efforts on multiple fronts, the Phase I construction period of Zhengzhou Metro Line 8 has been shortened. The project has now achieved "tunnel breakthrough," "track breakthrough," and "power supply breakthrough," completed the catenary hot-slide test across the entire line, successfully obtained the certificate permitting trial operation without passengers, and is scheduled to begin trial operation without passengers next week.

The Phase I project of Line 8 is a key east-west urban rail transit trunk line in Zhengzhou, with a total length of 51.78 km. It starts in the west at Tianjianhu Station on the east side of the Ring Expressway and ends in the east at Lumiao Station in Zhongmu County, with 28 stations (all underground stations). It is the longest line in the approved construction plan. During implementation, the project crossed rivers 17 times, involving a large management span and numerous risk points.

It is understood that trial operation without passengers refers to carrying out various operational tests with the train in a non-passenger-carrying state, identifying and correcting existing problems, and continuously verifying the stability and reliability of the various systems of the metro line. It is a basic guarantee for safe operation and trial operation with passengers.
