The crisp autumn air makes it the perfect time for autumn and winter water conservancy construction. Recently, it was learned from the Provincial Department of Water Resources that at water conservancy construction sites across the region, construction workers are seizing the "golden period" to accelerate project construction.

At the construction site of the Quanmutang Reservoir hub project, workers are busy installing and commissioning generator units. The Quanmutang Reservoir project consists of two major components, the hub and the irrigation district. At present, the main civil structure of the hub and the installation of the metal-structure radial gates have been completed, and breakthrough of the Shiziling Tunnel is just around the corner. The Quanmutang Reservoir project is one of the 172 major national water conservancy projects; once completed, it will irrigate 1.13 million mu of farmland and secure drinking water for more than 900,000 people.

At the construction site of the Mangshan Reservoir project, it can be seen that all beam-type flume bodies of the 1,140-meter-long Zhuzitang Aqueduct in the irrigation district have been poured, marking the full "closure" of all three high aqueducts in the Mangshan Reservoir irrigation district. The Mangshan Reservoir project is designed to irrigate 312,000 mu.

At the construction site of the Lannihu Polder, part of the first-phase reinforcement project for key polders in the Dongting Lake area, a giant hydraulic grab is excavating the original soil from the embankment body and replacing it with plastic concrete that offers stronger seepage control, thereby enhancing the embankment's impermeability. The first-phase reinforcement project for key polders in the Dongting Lake area is one of the 150 major national water conservancy projects, covering embankment raising, slope protection, toe protection, slope reinforcement, and soft foundation treatment; once completed, it will significantly boost flood control capacity in the Dongting Lake area.

At present, numerous water conservancy projects—including the Daxingzhai Reservoir project, the Jiaohua Reservoir project, the Maojun Reservoir project, and small-scale farmland water conservancy construction projects in the fields—are all pressing ahead with construction at full speed, with smooth progress.
