At 4 a.m. on September 21, Mid-Autumn Festival day, at the construction site of the first span of the G518 Grand Bridge on the newly built Linyi Lingang Port Railway project, workers skillfully operated the bridge erection machine to steadily place the last beam onto the pier, marking the completion of erection of all 256 precast T-beams for 128 spans of the project's main line section. This has pressed the "fast-forward button" for the opening of the Linyi Lingang Port Railway and presented a generous gift for the Mid-Autumn and National Day holidays.

The newly built Linyi Lingang Port Railway has a total length of 25.8 km and a total investment of 2.187 billion yuan. It is the second railway dedicated line project to start construction among Linyi City's seven railway dedicated line projects, and the first to break ground. Since the start of construction, the project team of China Construction Eighth Engineering Division Corp., Ltd. First Company has followed the labor competition deployment requirements of "fighting the epidemic, ensuring the schedule, and comparing contributions," working backward from the schedule, fighting according to plans, and making every effort to advance the project.

It is reported that spans 1-6 of the G518 Grand Bridge are adjacent to an existing operating railway and require scheduled construction windows (5-9 a.m.). This section is located in a variable-radius area with a curve radius between 400 and 600 meters, making it extremely difficult to prevent overturning when the bridge erection machine passes through openings and erects beams. Before construction, the project made detailed deployment arrangements for each process, including beam shifting, beam transport, and beam erection, according to actual conditions, and formulated safeguard measures and emergency plans for construction risk points, ensuring safe and orderly construction and smoothly achieving the project milestone objectives.
