From March 25 to 27, the National Machinery Industry Model Worker Commendation Conference was grandly held at the Jingxi Hotel in Beijing. Leaders attending the conference included Lu Yongxiang, Vice Chairman of the 10th and 11th National People's Congress; Gu Xiulian, Vice Chairman of the 10th National People's Congress; Li Yizhong, Member of the Standing Committee of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, Deputy Director of the Economic Committee, and President of the China Federation of Industrial Economics; Liu Lihua, Vice Minister of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology; Wang Wenbin, Deputy Director of the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of the State Council; Wang Ruixiang, President of the China Machinery Industry Federation; and other leaders. Wu Yunhua, Deputy Director of the National Civil Service Bureau of the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security, read out the commendation decision.

　　A total of 100 units nationwide received the honor of "National Advanced Collective in the Machinery Industry," with only 5 units from Anhui Province. Zhao Hancheng, Vice Chairman of the Labor Union of Anhui Heli, took the stage to receive the award as a representative of the advanced collectives (representatives who took the stage to receive awards came from only 16 units).

　　During the conference, the organizers arranged for all representatives of the commended advanced units and model workers to visit the National Museum of China and watch a consolation performance by the All-China Federation of Trade Unions Art Troupe.

　　It was also learned that the conference commended Liu Shihong, an employee of Anhui Heli, and awarded him the honorary title of "Model Worker of the National Machinery Industry."
