On October 13, the Shaying River Zhoukou-to-Provincial-Border Waterway Upgrade Project undertaken by CSCEC Port Group Co., Ltd. reached its first key control milestone — the anti-seepage curtain for the main lock pit was successfully closed.

The successful closure of the cement mixing pile anti-seepage curtain for the main lock pit is the first major phased achievement since the project started. Once the curtain is closed, it will effectively block groundwater seepage from outside the pit, reduce the risk of water inrush and gushing during pit excavation, and create stable and safe working conditions for subsequent pit excavation, dewatering and construction of the main lock concrete structure. It is a prerequisite for the smooth implementation of the main lock works.

From the outset, the project department adhered to planning first, treating advance technical planning as the top priority in advancing the works. Anchored to the goal of closing the anti-seepage curtain by October 15, it worked to a reverse schedule and charted its battle plan, refining the construction organization item by item. Led by the project technical team, and based on the site's geological survey data, it repeatedly studied the construction process parameters for the cement mixing piles, optimized the construction plan, defined key control indicators such as grouting pressure, penetration and lifting speed, and verticality, prepared special construction technical briefings and quality control points, and introduced digital intelligent monitoring equipment. Ultimately, the first key milestone was achieved ahead of schedule on October 13.

It is reported that, as a key node in the high-grade waterway network of the Huai River Basin, the Shenqiu Double-Line Lock Project is a key project for upgrading the quality of regional waterways. Once completed, it will effectively enhance waterway navigation capacity, improve the regional water transport network, meet growing water transport demand, and provide solid water transport support for high-quality regional economic and social development.
