By the Chishui River, surrounded by lush green mountains, the three key substructure works of the Fuxing Chishui River Bridge on the Yuchixu Expressway, constructed by Guizhou Road & Bridge Group—pile foundations, pile caps, and pier columns—have all been completed, marking a major milestone breakthrough and smoothly entering a new stage of steel structure cable hoisting construction for the superstructure.

Breaking Through Rock: Pile Foundation Construction Takes the Lead

The Fuxing Chishui River Bridge is a controlling project for the entire line, and the pile foundation construction for the main piers faces complex geological and technical challenges. Pier 8 encountered a rare "accumulation body" stratum, highly prone to hole collapse and drill jamming; Pier 9 faced the challenge of high-strength hard rock construction.

The project team always adhered to the belief that "there are always more solutions than difficulties," adopting measures such as concrete backfill secondary drilling technology and strict control of drilling parameters to successfully penetrate complex strata; meanwhile, they optimized drilling tool configurations, implemented 24-hour shift operations, and staged reaming technology to efficiently overcome the hard rock challenge. Ultimately, the pile foundation hole-forming qualification rate reached 100%, and the bridge officially shifted from underground concealed works to a new stage of above-ground structural construction.

Continuous Attack: Pile Cap Construction Solid as a Rock

At the end of 2025, the first large-volume pile cap for the main pier was successfully poured after 26 hours of continuous operation; in April this year, the pile cap for Pier 9 was also successfully completed. This pile cap involved super-large-volume concrete construction. To ensure the appearance quality of the concrete, the formwork was polished and rust-removed before applying a high-quality release agent. During pouring, a retarding high-efficiency water reducer was used, and a "2 main + 1 backup" concrete pump truck mode ensured continuous pouring. Two shifts worked in rotation, with 8 vibrators for layered vibration. After pouring, the surface was covered with geotextile for watering and curing. Ultimately, both the solid quality and appearance of the pile cap met the standards.

Intelligent Temperature Control: Precise Shaping in Pier Column Construction

Since the beginning of this year, the first and last formwork pours of the pier columns have been successfully completed. Addressing the two major difficulties of temperature control and crack prevention and verticality control, the project team optimized the concrete mix ratio, added retarding water reducer, embedded cooling pipes, and applied "3D heat dissipation + intelligent monitoring technology" to precisely control the temperature difference between inside and outside, effectively overcoming the temperature control and crack prevention challenge. During pouring, a total station was used for re-measurement every hour, and strict symmetrical and balanced material feeding was enforced. The entire process was free of cracks and cold joints, and both the solid strength and verticality reached excellent levels, forming a set of standardized processes that can be replicated and promoted.

Party Building Empowerment: Green Construction Protects Clear Waters

The Fuxing Chishui River Bridge is adjacent to the Chishui River Rare Fish Nature Reserve, with high ecological control standards. During construction, the project team consistently adhered to the principle of "Party flag red" leading "ecological green and technological strength," setting up Party member pioneer posts, organizing technical backbones to go to the front line to tackle problems, establishing a mud "collection—purification—recycling" system, and implementing "three-stage sedimentation + fully enclosed" wastewater treatment and classified garbage removal, strictly guarding the ecological red line and achieving a win-win situation for engineering construction and ecological protection.

Currently, all three key milestones of the Fuxing Chishui River Bridge have been successfully completed. The project team will seize the momentum, continue to carry forward the craftsman spirit, and build a high-quality ecological project by the red river, making this bridge an important landmark connecting three regions and empowering development, contributing to the high-quality development of the regional economy.
