On September 14, 2026, the first foundation pilot and commencement ceremony for a key section of the ±800 kV ultra-high-voltage direct current (UHVDC) transmission project from southeastern Tibet to the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area was successfully held in Wenshan, Yunnan. The KR200D heavy-duty integral-transport power-construction drilling rig, jointly developed by Jiangsu Tysim Machinery Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "Tysim Machinery") and the State Grid Hunan Electric Power Research Institute, appeared at the construction site and completed a live demonstration of 5G remote intelligent operation and control, supporting efficient and safe construction of the UHVDC project with high-end intelligent power-construction equipment and complete solutions.

The Tibet-Guangdong DC project is a key energy project of China's 14th Five-Year Plan and is of great significance to the green and low-carbon energy transition and to achieving the "dual carbon" goals. The project route runs mostly through mountainous areas with complex terrain and harsh construction conditions, imposing stringent requirements on the heavy-load capacity, relocation efficiency, stability and intelligence level of construction equipment. In response to the various pain points of mountainous UHVDC construction, Tysim Machinery and the State Grid Hunan Electric Power Research Institute have carried out in-depth joint engineering research for seven years, conducting targeted R&D and iterative optimization based on real power-infrastructure construction conditions to create dedicated power-construction drilling rigs suited to UHVDC mountainous construction, achieving specialized and intelligent upgrading of power grid construction equipment. At present, Tysim power-construction drilling rigs have been deployed in more than 28 provinces across the country and have served more than 1,000 power grid infrastructure projects of various types, making the company a core equipment service provider for mechanized and intelligent pile foundation construction in China's power grid.

The KR200D heavy-duty integral-transport power-construction drilling rig unveiled this time is the core implementation achievement of the two parties' seven years of joint engineering research. The equipment adopts an integral-transport integrated design, requiring no disassembly and reassembly, which greatly simplifies relocation procedures at mountainous sites and effectively saves construction preparation time. Equipped with a reinforced heavy-duty chassis and a high-performance power system, the equipment adapts to rugged mountainous road conditions and can efficiently complete large-diameter, deep-foundation hole drilling for UHVDC transmission towers. The equipment features a 360° panoramic imaging construction mode, effectively reducing safety risks in mountainous field construction; its super-high torque and efficient rock-penetration function improve foundation construction quality and efficiency, highly matching UHVDC project construction standards.

At the event, Tysim Machinery's newly upgraded 5G remote intelligent operation and control platform for power-construction equipment completed a live demonstration, fully showcasing the company's intelligent R&D strength. This demonstration achieved cross-regional remote construction control: operators in the control cabin at Tysim Machinery's headquarters in Wuxi, Jiangsu, relying on 5G high-speed communication technology, remotely and precisely controlled the KR200D drilling rig operating at a construction site in Yunnan some 3,000 kilometers away, with the equipment responding quickly, running stably and being controlled accurately.

The implementation and application of this intelligent solution has completely changed the traditional power pile foundation construction model. Through remote control technology, construction personnel no longer need to be stationed at high-risk operation sites, truly achieving human-machine separation and safe construction; at the same time, a single remote control console can simultaneously manage multiple rotary drilling rigs working in coordination, greatly reducing labor costs and improving construction efficiency, perfectly solving industry pain points such as high safety risks, high labor costs and limited operational efficiency in traditional power grid construction.

For a long time, Tysim Machinery has been deeply engaged in the field of power infrastructure equipment, continuously deepening collaborative research with the State Grid Hunan Electric Power Research Institute, closely following the actual needs of power grid construction, continuously iterating equipment performance, upgrading intelligent control systems, and optimizing adaptability to various mountainous and UHVDC construction scenarios.

Next, Tysim Machinery will continue to deepen its presence in the UHVDC power grid infrastructure equipment track, continuously optimize intelligent construction equipment and remote control technology, and use jointly developed high-end intelligent power equipment to ensure the efficient construction of major national energy projects, providing solid equipment support for the intelligent upgrading of power infrastructure and the green energy transition.
