Recently, the Hohhot Zhaowuda Road project undertaken by China Railway Beijing Engineering Group successfully completed all 816 pile foundation construction tasks. The underground foundation works have been brought to a successful conclusion, and the project has fully shifted to the construction phase of main structures such as pile caps, pier columns, cast-in-place girders, and steel box girders.

The project is located at the intersection of Zhaowuda Road and the South Second Ring Expressway. Its main construction contents include 10 new interchange ramps and the reconstruction of ground roads. Upon completion, the South Second Ring Expressway and the Zhaowuda Road viaduct will be interconnected, effectively diverting traffic flow, alleviating regional traffic pressure, and further improving the urban road network structure.

During construction, difficulties were encountered, including a heavy pile foundation workload, complex geological conditions, and high construction standards. The project department optimized the construction techniques, adopting a combination of percussion drilling and rotary drilling, and summarized and developed the "probe, judge, seal, and drill" construction method for abandoned pipeline areas, successfully avoiding interference from underground pipelines and overcoming the challenge of hole formation in complex strata. At the same time, a dedicated task force was established, with technical and testing personnel conducting full-process on-site supervision, strictly controlling concrete pouring time, and implementing full-process standardized control over reinforcement cage fabrication, coupler connection, lowering and positioning, sonic logging pipe embedding, and concrete pouring, ensuring that pile foundation quality is safe and reliable. At present, the project is proceeding in an orderly manner according to plan, laying a solid foundation for high-quality completion on schedule.
