At around 10 a.m. yesterday, as the drill bit of a rotary drilling rig slowly broke ground, the first railway bridge pile foundation of the Oujiang River Highway-Railway Bridge of the Wenzhou-Fuzhou High-Speed Railway, constructed by China Railway 11th Bureau Group, was successfully drilled in Beibaixiang Town, Yueqing City.

The Oujiang River Highway-Railway Bridge is a key controlling project of the Zhejiang section of the Wenzhou-Fuzhou High-Speed Railway and is the world's largest-span four-track railway parallel-deck cable-stayed bridge. The bridge adopts a "parallel-deck bridge" scheme, with four high-speed railway tracks in the middle and two-way six-lane highways on both sides; the main span of the bridge reaches 700 meters, with a width of about 60 meters.

The Wenzhou-Fuzhou High-Speed Railway broke ground in Yueqing on September 29 last year. It is an important component of the coastal corridor of the "Eight Vertical and Eight Horizontal" high-speed railway network under the National Comprehensive Three-Dimensional Transport Network Plan, and is also an important section connecting the Yangtze River Delta and the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area. The project has a total length of about 303 kilometers of newly built main line, with a construction period of 5 years. A 33.13-kilometer connecting line of the Hangzhou-Wenzhou High-Speed Railway will be built simultaneously, and the Oujiang River Highway-Railway Bridge of the Wenzhou-Fuzhou High-Speed Railway will be implemented.
