On August 25, as the last batch of concrete was accurately placed into the formwork, the side wall pouring of the front anchorage chamber of the south anchorage of the south navigation channel bridge of the Zhangjinggao Yangtze River Bridge was completed. The main structure of the south anchorage of this world-class project has been successfully completed, and the focus of the bridge construction will gradually shift to the superstructure construction.

The main navigation channel bridge of the Zhangjinggao Yangtze River Bridge adopts a steel box girder suspension bridge structure with a main span of 2,300 meters, making it the world's largest span bridge under construction. As a key part of the "lifeline" of the suspension bridge, the south anchorage of the south navigation channel bridge undertakes the core task of anchoring the main cables and balancing the enormous tension of the over 2,000-meter main span. The anchorage foundation is 110.05 meters long and 75.05 meters wide, with a diaphragm wall depth of 83 meters and a foundation pit excavation depth of 51 meters, making it the world's largest composite diaphragm wall anchorage foundation; the anchorage body is 110 meters long, 52.5 meters high and 87.45 meters wide, covering an area equivalent to about 20 standard basketball courts, with a total concrete pouring volume of 550,000 cubic meters and a total weight of more than one million tons.

2026 is the year of full-scale攻坚 for the entire project, with the main bridge, approach bridges and the north and south connecting lines advancing in parallel and the conversion of construction procedures proceeding in a close and orderly manner. "Next, the construction team will focus on key procedures such as the pilot cable crossing the river and the catwalk erection, advance the superstructure construction to high standards, and make every effort to ensure the steady progress of the bridge construction," said Shi Yonglong, director of the Engineering Safety Department of the Zhangjinggao Yangtze River Bridge Construction Command of the Jiangsu Provincial Transportation Engineering Construction Bureau.
