On July 16, at the construction site of Xiaodun Village, Ketan Town, Lujiang County, Hefei City, Anhui Province, as the last batch of concrete was successfully poured into the borehole, the pile foundation construction for both main piers of the cable-stayed bridge of the Hefei-Chizhou Railway crossing the Yangtze-to-Huaihe Water Diversion Project was fully completed, and the project officially moved into the pile cap construction stage. The bridge crossing the Yangtze-to-Huaihe Water Diversion Project is constructed and managed by Wangan Railway Anhui Company and built by China Railway 11th Bureau Group, and is a controlling project of the entire Hefei-Chizhou Railway line.

The Hefei-Chizhou Railway starts from Hefei West Station in Hefei City and ends at Jiuhuashan Station in Chizhou City, and is expected to be ready for operation by 2029.
