On June 9, the Luolu Expressway project undertaken by China First Metallurgical Group Co., Ltd. reported another success: with the smooth completion of substructure construction for the E1 ramp bridge at Dayang Interchange in Section 4, all substructure works for the 27 bridges in this section have been finished, marking the successful completion of the project's bridge foundation construction and pressing the "fast-forward" button for accelerated construction along the entire line.
The Luolu Expressway is approximately 97.5 km long, with the main line built to a two-way, four-lane expressway technical standard and a design speed of 120 km/h, linking Luocheng Mulao Autonomous County in Hechi City with Liucheng County and Luzhai County in Liuzhou City. The completed E1 ramp bridge is the connector between Dayang Interchange and County Road 073 (from Dayang Village to Luzhai North Station). The bridge is 157 m long and adopts a single-unit 5×30 m span design; its superstructure uses prestressed concrete post-tensioned T-beams in a simply supported-then-continuous system, while the abutments and piers of the substructure use standardized column structures combined with pile foundation construction, effectively addressing the complex local geological conditions and laying a solid foundation for bridge safety.
During construction, the project department carried out refined and coordinated on-site management. On the basis of properly implementing forest land use coordination work, it overcame multiple difficulties, including complicated procedures, complex geological conditions, and stringent construction techniques, and completed all substructure works—including pile foundations, piers, and abutments—to high standards in accordance with specifications, ensuring the steady implementation of the project. "As the last bridge in the section to undergo substructure construction, the project proactively engaged with local authorities in the early stage, coordinated and advanced forest land approval and land use matters, resolved the constraint of forest land use, closely tracked schedule milestones, coordinated the allocation of labor, materials, and machinery, optimized the construction plan, linked up all procedures, and had all personnel seize favorable construction windows while strictly upholding the safety and quality bottom line, thus achieving completion on schedule," said Liu Jun, construction manager of the project.
It is reported that 4 of the 8 ramps (including 5 bridges) at the Luzhai North Hub Interchange are already in use, connecting the Quannan and Yanglu expressways; all 4 ramps (including 4 bridges) at the Pingshan South Hub Interchange, which links to the Yongliu Expressway, have met traffic-opening conditions. All remaining bridges in the section have shifted to superstructure construction, and girder erection, bridge deck paving, traffic safety, and ancillary facility works are proceeding in an orderly and steady manner. Once completed, the project will further densify the expressway network in central Guangxi, greatly stimulate the vitality of cultural tourism and logistics industries along the route, and inject lasting momentum into high-quality local economic and social development.
