On June 9, the construction of all 48 steel pipe pile foundations for the Hangzhou Bay Bridge anti-collision facility upgrade and renovation project, located in the Hangzhou Bay waters, one of the world's three major strong tidal bays, was recently completed, marking the successful conclusion of the project's first major milestone and its full entry into the pile cap cofferdam construction stage.

This project is China's first cross-sea bridge anti-collision facility renovation project. Its pioneering combined anti-collision system of "flexible anti-collision facilities + independent anti-collision piers + ductile protection devices + bridge main piers" will, upon completion, make the bridge China's first cross-sea bridge with a 20,000-tonne-class anti-collision capability.
