The project is located in Gangca County, Haibei Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, and is an important section of the national ordinary highway G338, mainly serving as a traffic guarantee for pastoral areas in northern Qinghai. The route has a total length of 102.056 kilometers and is built to Class II highway standards, with a design speed of 40 km/h and a subgrade width of 8.5 meters. The entire line includes 32 bridges and 32 at-grade intersections, with an approved investment of 878 million yuan.

The project has consistently adhered to the principles of ecological priority and green, low-carbon construction, minimizing disturbance to the grassland to the greatest extent. By leasing old factory buildings, 487.95 mu of temporary land was saved, and no borrow or spoil areas were set up along the entire line. The slope protection methods were optimized by using reinforced gabions instead of concrete protection, reducing masonry work by 5,541.8 cubic meters and consuming 4,171.9 cubic meters of slope rockfall on site. Ecological restoration work is carried out on a regular basis; a total of 85,000 naked carp have been released twice, dozens of artificial eagle nests have been installed, and six bird habitats have been created, effectively safeguarding plateau biodiversity. At the same time, a model room system for building construction has been implemented, supporting facilities for operation and maintenance buildings have been optimized, and the efficiency of later operation and maintenance has been comprehensively improved.

At present, the subgrade, building construction, and subbase works have all been completed; bridges and culverts are 98% complete, curb stones 96% complete, and slope greening 84% complete. The project has now entered the pavement base paving stage.
