At 12:00 noon on May 14, 2026, the base slab of the first foundation pit (Zone D1) of the Shanghai Huamao Center project was successfully poured. This breakthrough at a key milestone marks the project's transition from the pile foundation and retaining structure phase to the basement phase of the foundation pit, pressing the fast-forward button on creating a new regional landmark.

The project is located in the core area of the North Bund. The foundation pit is adjacent to Metro Line 12 and the Xinjian Road Tunnel, and the site involves multiple cultural relic and historic preservation buildings, making the environment highly sensitive. The deepest point of the Zone D1 foundation pit is nearly 16 m, with a total of four levels of bracing.

To ensure safety, the various participating teams on the project carefully planned and coordinated external resources, devoting full efforts to construction. Management personnel set up a "tough-task assault team" and adopted a 24-hour two-shift operation. It took 15 days from the excavation of the second-layer earthworks to the completion of the base slab pouring. Metro deformation and displacement were close to "zero," and the entire construction process caused almost "zero disturbance" to the surrounding environment, fulfilling Huamao Group's sense of social responsibility.

The project's efficient tackling of key challenges, setting the "Hongkou acceleration," benefited from deep government-enterprise coordination and joint efforts in the same direction. The North Bund Development Office thoroughly practiced the concept of "penetrating service," established a regular liaison service mechanism, joined with the District Major Projects Office to follow the project construction throughout the process, and proactively coordinated all parties to provide forward-leaning services, offering precise support and solid guarantees for the implementation of earthwork excavation, base slab pouring, and other works.

Next, Hongkou District will continue to deepen precise services and strengthen factor guarantees, fully supporting the accelerated construction of Shanghai Huamao Center, ensuring completion of the base slab pouring target for the Zone A tower within the year, and promoting the project's early completion and operation. It will empower the functional upgrading of the North Bund with a benchmark commercial complex, create a new regional commercial landmark, and inject strong momentum into Hongkou's high-quality development and the building of the North Bund as a world-class reception hall.
