Recently, at the construction site of the Luoyang Yellow River Road-Rail Bridge on the Jiaozuo-Jiyuan-Luoyang-Pingdingshan High-Speed Railway in Mengjin District, Luoyang City, rebar is densely woven in a crisscross pattern, construction tower cranes stand in great numbers, and cement tanker trucks shuttle back and forth, presenting a bustling scene of vigorous construction everywhere.

As the core controlling project of the entire Jiaozuo-Jiyuan-Luoyang-Pingdingshan High-Speed Railway, the Luoyang Yellow River Road-Rail Bridge has a total length of 13.36 kilometers and adopts a double-deck road-rail combined structure. The upper deck is planned as a dual-direction, eight-lane National Highway 208, while the lower deck carries a high-speed railway designed for 350 km/h; the highway in the combined section is designed for 80 km/h. Once completed, the project will strongly enhance the level of regional comprehensive transportation interconnectivity.

At present, the project has completed a cumulative total of 1,662 pile foundations, 150 pile caps, and 108 pier shafts, and construction of the four in-water piers of the main bridge is progressing steadily.

It is understood that, as an important part of the Hohhot-Nanning Corridor, one of the main "eight vertical and eight horizontal" corridors in the national Medium- and Long-Term Railway Network Plan, the Jiaozuo-Jiyuan-Luoyang-Pingdingshan High-Speed Railway starts from the Jueshan line connection of the Zhengzhou-Taiyuan High-Speed Railway in the north and reaches Pingdingshan West Station in the south, with a total line length of 230.485 kilometers. After the project is completed and put into operation, it will form a cross-shaped transportation framework with the Zhengzhou-Xi'an High-Speed Railway and fully integrate into Henan's "rice-shaped" high-speed railway network, which is of great significance for optimizing the road network layout of the Central Plains urban agglomeration and promoting coordinated regional development.
