At 8:52 on May 12, at the construction site on Zhuba Street in Hongze District, Huai'an City, the completion of concreting for the final pile foundation marked the full completion of pile foundation work for the Hongze Station building and canopy under Section 1 of the station building works for the Nanjing-Huai'an Intercity Railway, laying a solid foundation for the subsequent main structure construction of the station building and canopy.

The Hongze Station building is located on Zhuba Street in Hongze District, with a building area of approximately 6,000 square meters. The center mileage of the station building is DK56+090, and the station yard has a scale of 2 platforms and 4 tracks. At the center mileage of the station building, an 8m-wide combined entrance and exit passage is provided. The station building adopts a reinforced concrete frame structure, with a steel space frame roof.

The architectural design of the station building draws on local cultural characteristics, using abstract techniques to interpret the vast expanse of blue waves merging with the sky, fully highlighting the beauty of the "Pearl on the Huai River." The facade uses glass curtain walls and stone curtain walls combined with grilles to give the station building a modern rhythmic sense of flowing water, expressing Hongze's unique geographical layout of "shouldering two lakes and surrounded by water on all sides" and showcasing the simple and serene characteristics of the "Water Town of Northern Jiangsu."

To build a high-quality station building project, the project construction management unit, the Nanjing Hub Command Center of Shanghai Railway Group, together with the contractor China Railway No. 10 Engineering Group, followed the passenger station construction policy of "smooth connectivity and integration, green and warm, economical and artistic, intelligent and convenient, and quality first," planning from a high starting point, positioning with high standards, and starting with high quality. They carefully planned the project, strictly controlled source management, improved start-of-construction standardization with high quality, advanced the first-piece system with high standards, and strictly required penetrating safety management, promoting the station building project construction safely, with quality, and efficiently. Wang Yu, head of the Hongze Station work area of the Nanjing-Huai'an Intercity Railway Section 1 project department of China Railway No. 10 Engineering Group, introduced that the Hongze Station building will next seize construction progress, with plans to complete foundation and main structure construction in three months and steel structure construction in two months. By the end of the year, the main frame will be completed and exterior facade decoration finished, fully revealing the prototype of the station building. It is expected that the conditions for acceptance and delivery will be successfully met by the end of June next year.
