In 2026, a total of 10 projects in Changzhou High-tech Zone were selected for the Jiangsu Provincial Major Project List, among which Xinbei Economic Development Zone ranked first in the district in the number of provincial major projects, becoming the core main battlefield for major project construction. Since the beginning of this year, Xinbei Economic Development Zone has closely followed the core theme of high-quality development, focused on accelerating progress and tackling key challenges, strengthened service guarantees, and made every effort to promote the accelerated construction of key projects at the provincial, municipal, and district levels, continuously consolidating the cornerstone of high-quality regional economic development.

Since the Yangzijiang Pharmaceutical Group Health Industry Base (Phase I) project achieved 'start of construction upon land acquisition' on December 16 last year, construction progress has been advancing rapidly. At present, the pile foundation works have been fully completed, and the foundation excavation, cushion layer construction, and ground beam and foundation column construction of the main buildings are being comprehensively advanced. 'Currently there are about 100 on-site construction and management personnel, mainly civil construction workers, rebar workers, and carpenters. At the peak of main structure construction, the workforce will reach 300 to 400 people,' said Zhai Renyan, the on-site project manager.

The Yangzijiang Pharmaceutical Group Health Industry Base (Phase I) project covers 174 mu, with a total construction area of 86,000 square meters and a total of 7 main buildings. During project implementation, geological conditions became the biggest difficulty. 'This plot has many rivers and ponds, widely distributed underground silt, and a relatively deep groundwater level, which poses huge challenges to construction,' Zhai Renyan introduced. To ensure the smooth progress of the project, the team concentrated on dredging operations in the early stage and scientifically formulated the construction plan. After the main works are completed, the project will also advance the construction of supporting facilities such as mechanical and electrical installation, outdoor pipe networks, and road works, ensuring that the project is implemented and effective as early as possible.

The efficient progress of the project is inseparable from the government's full-cycle precise services and all-round enabling guarantees. 'From signing the land agreement to starting construction upon land acquisition, and now to the full completion of pile foundation works, the project has advanced faster than expected,' Zhai Renyan introduced. From early-stage project advancement to the key nodes faced during construction, government departments at all levels have provided dedicated teams to guide the entire process and offer hands-on assistance, making weekly on-site visits to coordinate and resolve issues during implementation, escorting the accelerated progress of the project.
