Recently, as the final batch of concrete was accurately poured into place, the basement structure of the Yingcun Affordable Housing (Phase I) project, a key livelihood project in our city, was officially topped out, 24 days ahead of the original schedule, and the project has fully entered a new stage of above-ground main structure construction.

"Under conventional construction, the originally planned topping-out date of May 20 was already very tight." Xiamen Ankong Urban Construction Group Co., Ltd. is the agent construction unit for the project. Wang Yuanfang, head of the project department, introduced that the basement area of the Yingcun Affordable Housing Phase I project is about 14,800 square meters. During construction, it was necessary to coordinate complex issues such as spoil transport, concrete supply assurance, and cross-operation of multiple processes, while also dealing with challenges such as continuous spring rain and high pressure from foundation pit dewatering and drainage.

To tackle this "hard nut," the project department joined forces with the participating units to innovate the construction management model and rolled out two sets of efficient "combined measures" — implementing "grid-based + hourly-level" scheduling, dividing the basement into 9 construction grids, assigning dedicated "grid leaders," scheduling work backward in hourly units, and holding daily review meetings to promptly optimize lagging processes and ensure the construction rhythm did not fall out of step; at the same time, strictly guarding the quality and safety gate, implementing the "three-inspection system" of team self-inspection, project department re-inspection, and supervisory on-site inspection, paired with irregular random spot checks, keeping a close eye on core indicators such as concrete strength and impermeability grade, and firmly building the bottom line of project quality.

"We must make every effort to build the affordable housing into a premium project where people can live with peace of mind." Wang Yuanfang told the reporter that during the basement construction stage, the project specially strengthened targeted treatment of common quality defects such as leakage and cracks. For example, a "double insurance" system of self-waterproofing concrete + externally wrapped waterproofing membrane was adopted for the bottom slab and exterior walls, and detailed structural measures such as embedded waterstop steel plates were added, improving the basement project quality from the source.

According to the plan, the project will be fully topped out before the end of November this year, and will be basically completed and begin allocation and renting before the end of 2027. By then, it will further improve Xiamen's housing security system and help more than a thousand families realize their "dream of secure housing."

The project is located in Yingcun Community, Jimei District, Xiamen City, with a total land area of about 39,400 square meters and a total construction area of about 119,830 square meters. It is planned to build 1,500 units of affordable housing, along with supporting facilities including a community service center, a fresh food supermarket, elderly care service facilities, and about 380 underground parking spaces.
