On April 23, with the roaring start-up of the rotary drilling rig, pile foundation construction for the Shaoyang County Station building project of the Shaoyong Railway, undertaken by China Railway Urban Construction, got underway smoothly, marking the official start of construction of the Shaoyang County Station building project.

Shaoyang County Station is an important passenger station on the Shaoyong Railway, located within Shaoyang County, Shaoyang City, Hunan Province, and is constructed by China Railway Urban Construction. As a key node of the regional comprehensive transportation hub, the station building has a total floor area of 6,000 square meters, with a 10,000-square-meter railway parking lot and related supporting facilities built simultaneously. The station yard is designed with a scale of 2 platforms and 4 tracks, featuring one 450m x 8m basic platform and one side platform, with platform canopies arranged to match the platform length, fully meeting passenger boarding and alighting needs. In addition, it includes supporting production and living facilities for the entire line, with a total floor area of 24,927 square meters, covering production and living buildings as well as equipment rooms for locomotive, rolling stock and comprehensive maintenance operations. The construction scope includes all buildings and general layout-related works except the section's four-electricity buildings, guard booths, police areas, the Yongzhou Station signal building and the station building.

According to the relevant person in charge of the China Railway Urban Construction Shaoyong Railway Project Department, the project has high technical construction standards and great difficulty in safety control, with the core control difficulties concentrated in high formwork construction and large-span steel space frame hoisting. The maximum height of the high formwork is 14.442 meters, and the construction precision requirements for large-section beams are stringent; the steel space frame has a span of 36 meters and a lifting weight of more than 369 tons, and the processes of assembly, welding and synchronous jacking installation are complex and difficult to construct. At the same time, the project has many construction points and a line span of nearly 90 kilometers, making organization, coordination and resource pooling highly difficult; efficiently advancing construction and strengthening lean cost control are the keys to ensuring high-quality project delivery.

It is learned that the Shaoyong Railway is the core section of the Hohhot-Nanning corridor of the national "Eight Vertical and Eight Horizontal" high-speed rail network, a key trunk line for continued construction under the national "15th Five-Year Plan," and the No. 1 key high-speed rail project in Hunan Province's "15th Five-Year Plan." It connects with the Guangzhou-Qingyuan-Yongzhou High-Speed Railway to build Hunan's second rapid corridor to the Greater Bay Area. Once the line is completed, it will further improve the railway network in southwestern Hunan and strengthen the rapid connection between Shaoyang and Yongzhou. The construction of Shaoyang County Station is of great significance for enhancing regional transportation service capacity and promoting local economic and social development, and will become an important gateway for Shaoyang County to integrate into the national high-speed rail network, providing more convenient and efficient travel options for people along the line.
