At the construction site of the reconstructed Qingrong Lushan Interchange Mega Bridge project, workers are busy among a dense forest of rebar.

Recently, the 1st bid section of the Weifang-Yantai Railway Yantai South Station and EMU Depot project undertaken by China Railway No.10 Engineering Group reached another new milestone — the pile foundation work for the reconstructed Qingrong Lushan Interchange Mega Bridge has been fully completed, officially marking the full transition to the construction phase for pile caps and pier shafts.

The construction scope of the 1st bid section of the Yantai South Station and EMU Depot project covers core tasks including the turnaround line Qingrong Intercity Mega Bridge, the reconstructed Yanrong Downline 204 National Highway Mega Bridge, the reconstructed Qingrong Tongshi South Road Mega Bridge, the reconstructed Qingrong Lushan Interchange Mega Bridge, as well as the Yantai South Station yard, building construction, and four-electric (communication, signal, power supply, and electrification) works, involving 22 specialized fields.

As of now, the subgrade works, bridge works, and station building foundation works of the Weifang-Yantai Railway YTNSG-1 bid section are progressing in an orderly manner, with progress basically exceeding 50%. According to the plan, the Yantai South Station reconstruction and expansion project will be completed on June 30, 2027. By then, a modern transportation hub integrating station and city with multi-level connectivity will stand in southern Yantai, which will not only greatly relieve passenger flow pressure but also effectively enhance the city's辐射 capacity, injecting strong momentum into regional coordinated development.
