Since the start of the first quarter, the TJ2 section of the Shantou-Meizhou Expressway reconstruction and expansion project has entered the overall construction wrap-up phase. The core main works are essentially complete, and all remaining finishing work is progressing steadily as the project pushes toward its scheduled completion target.

The project is located in Meizhou City, Guangdong Province, with a total route length of 15.233 km and a total cost of 1.106 billion yuan. It covers multiple work items including subgrade, bridges and culverts, tunnels, and a smart beam fabrication yard. To date, the project's cumulative output value has reached 92.9% of the contract amount. Bridge foundation structures such as pile foundations, columns, and bent caps, as well as core components including cast-in-place beams, newly built tunnels, subgrade excavation and filling, and culvert drainage works, have all been 100% completed. All 726 pile foundations have been tested: 718 are Class I piles and 8 are Class II piles, with no Class III or IV piles, and project quality meets standards across the board.

The project team is currently seizing the peak construction season, working to a reverse-scheduled timetable and a wall-mounted progress chart to accelerate the remaining finishing works. The team is strictly controlling quality, safety, and schedule to ensure the project is completed on time and to a high standard, supporting the upgrading of the transportation network in eastern Guangdong and the high-quality development of the regional economy.
