On April 8, at the construction site of the second phase of the Nanchong North Station reconstruction and expansion project launched in January this year,

the old station building has been fully demolished, and the project has fully entered pile foundation construction.

Zhang Xu, project manager of the Nanchong North Station project department of China Construction Third Engineering Bureau, introduced that according to the construction plan, the pile foundation construction task of the second phase is expected to be completed by the end of the month.

According to reports, after the reconstruction and expansion of Nanchong North Station is completed, the total building area will reach 50,700 square meters, of which the second phase building area will be 34,700 square meters, with a building height of 34.3 meters, covering the underground exit layer, platform layer, elevated waiting layer and commercial mezzanine, etc. After the overall reconstruction and expansion is completed, the scale of Nanchong North Station will be more than three times its original size, the number of platforms will increase to 8, and the number of railway lines will reach 18, greatly enhancing the station's passenger carrying capacity and transport efficiency, and further helping to upgrade the functions of the regional transportation hub.

As a key controlling node of the entire Chengdu-Dazhou-Wanzhou High-speed Railway line, the Nanchong North Station reconstruction and expansion project has entered a critical sprint stage. As of now, the project has completed about 40% of the total engineering volume.
