Before the launch, invited guests entered the Sunward Industrial City, toured the drill pipe workshop and the piling production workshop, and experienced the electric rotary drilling product series on site. Representatives from industry associations, partners, and customers, along with online viewers, jointly witnessed this important moment. At the event, Sunward Intelligent concentrated the release of four new range-extender electric rotary drilling rig models, among which the world's largest-tonnage SWDM620 made its stunning debut, marking that China's piling machinery has entered a brand-new stage in the fields of electrification and intelligentization.

Electrifying the Foundation: Consolidating the Foundation for Green Transformation

At 10:40 a.m., the launch kicked off. In his speech, Sunward Intelligent General Manager Xia Zhihong stated that the construction machinery industry is undergoing profound green and intelligent transformation, and that since its founding Sunward Intelligent has integrated green development into its innovation DNA. The range-extender electric rotary drilling rigs released this time cover multiple models with torque ranging from 240 kN.m to 620 kN.m, forming a tiered product system and marking that Sunward Intelligent has already possessed full-series industrialization capability in the electric piling field. "Electrifying the foundation is our deep reflection on the underlying logic of the industry."

Secretary-General Guo Chuanxin of the Piling Machinery Branch of the China Construction Machinery Society spoke highly of Sunward Intelligent's innovation capability in his speech. He stated that in the face of the overarching trend of green transformation, Sunward Intelligent has carried out a systematic layout in the electrification field with forward-looking strategic resolve, gradually translating green concepts into industrialization achievements.

The biggest highlight of this launch was undoubtedly the stunning debut of the SWDM620, the world's largest range-extender electric rotary drilling rig model. Chen Linjun, Director of the Research Institute of Sunward Intelligent's Basic Equipment Business Division, introduced that the new series released this time is equipped with four key technologies: multi-motor synchronous control, sudden load buffer control, main winch potential energy feedback control, and intelligent thermal management control. Among them, the potential energy feedback technology can recover 5 kWh of electricity per single lowering. The equipment offers three power modes: plug-in, pure electric, and range-extender. In plug-in mode, energy costs can be saved by up to 80%, and in range-extender mode, energy costs can be saved by 65% compared with traditional fuel equipment. Secretary-General Guo Chuanxin stated: "The SWDM620 is not only the largest in China but also the world's largest range-extender electric rotary drilling rig, demonstrating the independent R&D strength of China's equipment enterprises in the high-end electrification field."

The outstanding performance of the new products was quickly translated into high market recognition. A grand signing ceremony was held at the launch site, where Sunward Intelligent conducted dozens of rounds of intensive signings with strategic customers from all over the country. After the signing ceremony, a customer representative stated that the range-extender electric rotary drilling rig solves the pain point of high fuel consumption of traditional fuel equipment, and that range-extender technology completely eliminates "range anxiety." "Especially the potential energy recovery and intelligent thermal management systems have shown us tangible room for cost reduction and efficiency improvement."

In terms of construction benefits, Sunward Intelligent provided strong evidence through real cases collected via its big data platform. Taking the SWDM320 model at the Shandong Weilai Expressway project as an example, in plug-in mode the hourly energy cost is reduced by 140-150 yuan compared with fuel equipment, and efficiency is improved by 25%; taking the SWDM520 model at the Hangzhou Bay Bridge project as an example, energy costs in pure electric mode are reduced by 80%, and fuel consumption in range-extender mode is reduced by 65%.

Xia Zhihong emphasized: "Innovation is about creating value. The launch of these products not only responds to the call for national green development but also helps customers seize the initiative in future market competition."

In response to the safety concerns about electric equipment that users generally care about, Sunward Intelligent has provided a systematic solution. On the hardware side, the three electric components (motor, battery, and electronic control) are mandatorily required to have an IP67 or higher protection rating, and the battery is arranged inside the counterweight to achieve all-round anti-collision protection; on the software side, the equipment is equipped with multiple safety mechanisms such as insulation monitoring, leakage protection, and fault self-diagnosis, and, together with the Sunward Xiangyun platform, enables remote fault diagnosis and early warning. Secretary-General Guo Chuanxin stated that Sunward Intelligent's systematic layout and continuous investment in the electrification field have set a benchmark for the industry.

It is understood that Sunward Intelligent started R&D of rotary drilling rigs in 2003, and to date more than 10,000 units have served customers worldwide. Since fully launching the electrification process of rotary drilling rigs in 2021, it has achieved batch application in multiple key projects across the country.
