Recently, at the site of the demolition and expansion project (Phase I) of Qiaotou Town Central Primary School in Yongjia, Wenzhou, the pile foundation work for the new building has been fully completed. Construction workers are now fully engaged in building the underground fire water tank, with formwork erection, rebar tying and other procedures proceeding in an orderly manner, presenting a bustling scene of vigorous construction. To minimize the impact of construction on the school's normal teaching order, the construction unit has scientifically coordinated the construction plan and reasonably arranged work shifts, working overtime to accelerate progress and ensure quality, striving to put the facility into use by the end of September this year.

It is reported that the launch of the demolition and expansion project (Phase I) stems from the urgent need to improve the school's operating conditions. The school's original old building, which included facilities such as teachers' dormitories and a library, was built successively after the 1980s. Limited by the construction techniques of that time, coupled with insufficient building area, the existing school buildings can only accommodate classrooms for 31 classes and have no other dedicated function rooms. The teaching space is incompletely equipped and can no longer meet today's diverse, high-quality teaching needs. To shore up the school's shortcomings, the county officially launched the demolition and expansion project (Phase I) last October, advancing the demolition of existing buildings and the construction of new ones simultaneously.

It is understood that the project involves a total investment of approximately 21.7031 million yuan and a total land area of 13,825.59 square meters. It will demolish 2,589.29 square meters of existing floor area and build 5,195.46 square meters of new floor area. The new buildings include a teaching building, a comprehensive building, a library building, a generator room and an underground water pump room, and are planned to include student specialty spaces, a school history museum, an electronic reading room, a multi-function hall, an art room, a music room, a science laboratory and more to meet diverse teaching needs. The project also includes a campus beautification program, allowing children to feel happiness and grow up joyfully in a more beautiful and comfortable campus environment.

It is worth noting that, in addition to the ongoing demolition and expansion project (Phase I), Qiaotou Town Central Primary School will also build a campus canteen this summer vacation. The catering and accommodation renovation project is a county-level practical livelihood project. The first floor of the old lecture theater will be converted into a canteen kitchen, and the second floor's recording and broadcasting classroom will be converted into a dining hall. It is expected to be put into use after the autumn semester begins.
