Recently, in the waters off the northeast side of Aoshan Island in Zhoushan, Zhejiang, the first 88-meter pile foundation of the supporting wharf project of the Zhejiang Marine Engineering Intelligence and Innovation Industrial Base was successfully drilled, marking the project's entry into the substantive construction stage.

As a key project of Zhejiang Province's strong port construction and development, the base project plans to build one 20,000-tonne wharf, one trestle bridge, and related supporting facilities. The wharf berth is 305 m long and can simultaneously accommodate one 20,000-tonne submarine cable vessel and one 10,000-tonne general cargo ship.

Zhou Chen, head of the owner's project department of the Zhejiang Marine Engineering Intelligence and Innovation Industrial Base, said: "The drilling of the first pile not only marks the project's entry into the substantive advancement stage, but also serves as an important milestone in the innovative development of China's offshore wind power and marine power transmission engineering, injecting strong momentum into the building of a clean, low-carbon, safe and efficient energy system."

After completion, the project will rely on the wharf to build China's first marine power transmission industry intelligence and innovation park, creating a full-industry-chain innovation ecosystem covering smart logistics and warehousing, technology application and transformation, core equipment R&D, and talent exchange and training. At the same time, it will expand strategic emerging businesses such as offshore wind power grid-connection equipment, drive the submarine cable engineering industry toward high-end and intelligent development, and provide strong support for the high-quality development of Zhejiang's marine economy.
