The Taishan Road Yangtze River Bridge has recently made rapid progress, with a main span of 1,410 meters, securing a place among the longest spans over the Wanjiang (Anhui) section of the Yangtze. Many netizens are cheering for Wuhu on one hand, while on the other worrying about when the Second Yangtze River Bridge will become toll-free.

The Taishan Road Yangtze River Bridge is a suspension bridge with a main span of 1,410 meters, ranking first among all bridges over the Wanjiang section. It is one of the key projects of the S24 Hangzhou-Hefei Expressway, with a total investment of 15.506 billion yuan and a main line length of 30.88 kilometers, of which the river-crossing section is about 8.39 kilometers long. The pile foundations on the south side have all been completed, and pile cap construction is underway, progressing at a very fast pace.

The bridge connects Wuhu at one end and Ma'anshan at the other, and dovetails with the Changjiang North Road rapid reconstruction to form a new river-crossing corridor in the north of the city. Its main purpose is to divert traffic from the First Yangtze River Bridge, which will greatly reduce congestion during holidays, and vehicles passing through on the expressway can also use this route directly.
