With all 19 bored piles of main pier No. 137 of the main bridge of the Changsha-Xiangjiang Railway Grand Bridge on the Chang-Gan High-Speed Railway having been poured, the construction of the Chang-Gan High-Speed Railway has hit the "fast-forward" button.

As an important part of the "Yu-Xia Corridor," one of the main corridors of the national "Eight Vertical and Eight Horizontal" high-speed railway network, the Hunan section of the Chang-Gan High-Speed Railway officially began construction in July 2025. The main bridge of the Changsha-Xiangjiang Railway Grand Bridge currently under construction is a controlling project of the entire line, with a total length of 768.1 meters. It adopts a (96+93+390+93+96)-meter cable-stayed bridge scheme to cross the main navigation channel of the right branch of the Xiangjiang River.
It is understood that the first piles of main piers No. 137 and No. 138 were drilled simultaneously on January 23 this year. At present, all pile foundations of pier No. 137 have been poured, and the pile foundations of pier No. 138 are expected to be fully poured by April 15.
Once the Chang-Gan High-Speed Railway is completed and opened to traffic, it will greatly shorten the travel time and distance between Changsha and Ganzhou as well as cities along the route, further optimize the railway network structure in the Hunan-Jiangxi border area and along the route, and strengthen connectivity between the central region and the southeastern coastal region. By then, the line will effectively enhance coordination and linkage between the Chang-Zhu-Tan urban agglomeration and the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area and the West Taiwan Strait Economic Zone, promote inter-regional industrial collaboration and efficient flow of production factors, and provide solid and reliable transportation support for the high-quality economic and social development of Hunan and Jiangxi provinces.
