As a key project of the national "Eight Vertical and Eight Horizontal" high-speed railway network's Baoji (Yinchuan)-Haikou corridor and Shaanxi's "rice-shaped" high-speed rail network, the Yan'an-Yulin High-Speed Railway (Yulin section) is seeing its various contract sections advance construction in an orderly manner, with planned investment of 7.45 billion yuan to be completed this year.

At the No. 2 steel reinforcement processing plant of the YYZQ-11 contract section of the Yan'an-Yulin Railway undertaken by China Railway 11th Bureau Group, CNC reinforcement cage seam welders are running at full capacity, workers precisely adjust parameters, and neatly formed reinforcement cages roll off the production line one after another, providing solid material support for subsequent bridge construction.

"The steel reinforcement processing plant has now resumed work, and work sites including the beam factory, continuous beams and Yulin South Station will gradually resume construction, making every effort to complete all pier shafts, continuous beams and subgrade earthwork by 2026," said Duan Lipeng, chief engineer of the 11th contract section of the Yan'an-Yulin Railway under China Railway 11th Bureau Group. The main line of this contract section is 24.5 kilometers long and is an important section of the Yan'an-Yulin High-Speed Railway (Yulin section). The section plans the construction of 8 bridges and 9 subgrade sections (including Yulin South Station); the project construction is of great significance for improving the transport facilities along the section and advancing the construction of Yulin South Station. At present, 4,074 bridge pile foundations have been completed in this section, with the completion ratio exceeding 80 percent.

At the construction site of the YYZQ-9 contract section located in Mengjiacha Village, Chengjiao Township, Mizhi County, large cranes steadily hoist materials such as bridge pier reinforcement and formwork to the working face, while workers divide labor and cooperate to advance the project construction.

This contract section is 22.9 kilometers long, spanning Suide County, Mizhi County and Yuyang District, and covers multiple works including earthwork, bridges and tunnels. Its construction quality directly affects the overall opening schedule of the Yan'an-Yulin High-Speed Railway (Yulin section). "We will seize the golden construction period, make every effort to advance tunnel excavation, main bridge structure construction and subgrade earthwork, and strictly control project quality and construction safety," said Zhang Hengrui, chief engineer of the No. 1 work area of the 9th contract section of the Yan'an-Yulin Railway under China Railway Third Bureau Group.

"Since the start of construction, Yulin City has completed a cumulative investment of 6.88 billion yuan in the Yan'an-Yulin High-Speed Railway, completing 58,900 meters of tunnel excavation, 7,196 bridge pile foundations, 549 pile caps, 432 pier shafts and 2.06 million cubic meters of subgrade earthwork," said Yue Jiqiang, senior engineer of the Yan'an-Yulin Command Department of Xicheng Passenger Dedicated Line Shaanxi Company. To ensure project progress, the next step will be to strengthen coordination among all parties, increase inputs of manpower and materials, actively implement the construction concept of "digitalization, mechanization, intelligence and green development," continue to use advanced equipment and techniques such as three-boom rock drilling jumbos and intelligent subgrade filling, and advance the construction of the Yan'an-Yulin High-Speed Railway with high quality.
