Recently,The first pile foundation of Section 04 of the S11 Chaohu-Huangshan Expressway Hefei to Wuwei (Shijian) segment was drilledmarking that this section project has officially entered the advance construction stage and pressing the "fast-forward button" for the construction of the entire line.

The first pile foundation drilled this time is located at Pile 9-1 of Pier 9# on the right carriageway of Taoyuan Bridge, with a pile diameter of 1.8 meters. As the "touchstone" of the entire pile foundation project, the successful implementation of the first pile will effectively verify the feasibility of the construction plan and provide key practical basis for avoiding quality risks and reducing safety risks in subsequent batch pile foundation construction.

The S11 Chaohu-Huangshan Expressway Hefei to Wuwei (Shijian) segment has a total route length of 30.5 kilometers, starting at the Xiage West Interchange of the Mingchao Expressway and ending at the connection with the G4221 Shanghai-Wuhan Expresswayand is an important component of Anhui Province's "five vertical and ten horizontal" skeleton network. The project is constructed to the technical standard of a two-way four-lane expressway (with the Chaohu Tunnel section to the standard of a two-way six-lane expressway), with a design speed of 120 km/h (100 km/h for the Chaohu Tunnel section) and a subgrade width of 27 meters.

After the project is completed, a new north-south through expressway corridor will be added to the Hefei and Wuhu areas.At the same time, it will connect multiple city nodes in Anhui Province, including Huaibei, Suzhou, Bengbu, Hefei, Wuhu, and Huangshan, and is of great significance for improving the layout of Anhui Province's expressway network, accelerating the integrated and smooth interconnection of regional expressways, strengthening the connection between Hefei and Wuhu as important node cities of the G60 Science and Innovation Corridor, and accelerating the development of the province's "two circles, two belts, and one cluster" urban spatial system.
