On March 5, construction workers at 94 work sites in the Guangxi section of the newly built Guizhou Huangtong to Guangxi Baise Railway (hereinafter referred to as the Huang-Bai Railway), a landmark project of the New Western Land-Sea Corridor, have returned to their posts, orderly advancing the resumption of work and production. With this, all 7 railway projects under construction in Guangxi have achieved full resumption of work.At the Pingla Tunnel of the Huang-Bai Railway in Lingyun County, Baise, Guangxi, all 6 working faces have fully resumed construction and production, with more than 300 construction personnel methodically carrying out operations such as pneumatic drill excavation, secondary lining rebar tying, and roughening of the tunnel's low side walls. This tunnel, with a total length of 13,084 meters, is one of the 7 extra-large tunnels exceeding 10 kilometers along the entire Huang-Bai Railway and is also a key controlling project of the line.

"At present, excavation of the main tunnel bore has exceeded 5,700 meters, and this year's target task is to excavate 5,300 meters, requiring the daily excavation progress to be maintained at around 18 meters. To this end, we have added 2 sets of excavation equipment, further strengthened the allocation of construction resources, optimized the construction process, reduced the connection time between various procedures, improved construction efficiency, and ensured that the tunnel will be completed and connected on schedule in 2027," said Zhou Haitao, head of the Huang-Bai Railway project department of China Railway 14th Bureau Group, which is responsible for the construction of the Pingla Tunnel.

Not far from the exit of the Pingla Tunnel, construction at the Napa Grand Bridge of the Huang-Bai Railway is in full swing, with more than 20 construction workers cooperating in division of labor, orderly advancing work such as the installation of cast-in-place beam formwork and rebar tying, making preparations for accelerating subsequent cast-in-place beam construction. It is reported that the Napa Grand Bridge has a total length of 1,573 meters; at present, the construction of pile foundations and bridge piers has been fully completed, and the cast-in-place beam construction is expected to be completed within this month.

"To ensure a smooth resumption of work, we conducted detailed inspections, confirmations, evaluations, and approvals of resumption conditions at all work sites, ensuring orderly resumption after conditions met the standards," said Yang Yan, deputy commander of the Huang-Bai Railway Construction Command of Yun-Gui Railway Guangxi Company. Currently, more than 4,300 construction workers in the Guangxi section of the Huang-Bai Railway have returned to work, solidly advancing project construction progress to ensure completion of the first-quarter investment task of 750 million yuan and achieve the goal of a "good start."

The Huang-Bai Railway has a total length of approximately 315 kilometers and a designed speed of 160 kilometers per hour. It is a landmark project of the New Western Land-Sea Corridor. The project is expected to be completed and opened to traffic across the entire line in 2028, when it will become a convenient corridor from northern Guizhou to the Guangxi Beibu Gulf region, and is of great significance for accelerating the construction of the New Western Land-Sea Corridor and promoting coordinated regional economic and social development.

With the resumption of Huang-Bai Railway construction, all 7 railway projects currently under construction in Guangxi have achieved full resumption of work, including the Hezhan High-Speed Railway, the Yucen section of the Nanzhu High-Speed Railway, the Liuwu Railway, the second-track addition to the Nanfang Railway's Qinzhou to Fangchenggang section, the second-track addition to the Qinzhou East to Qinzhou Port Railway, and the second-track addition to the Qiangui Railway. Construction workers are performing their respective duties in carrying out various construction operations, ensuring that Guangxi's railway construction proceeds smoothly and orderly at the start of the "15th Five-Year Plan."
