Recently, various localities in Nantong have been making every effort to promote the early start and rapid construction of major projects, seizing the sprint period of the first quarter to inject strong momentum into the city's high-quality development.

Walking into the site of the Rudong Kesen Green Polyester New Material Project, the outline of the main plant buildings of Phase I has already taken shape, the pouring of all ground equipment foundations has been completed, and batches of core equipment are being transported in in an orderly manner. Zhang Qiang, Executive Deputy General Manager of Kesen (Nantong) New Materials Co., Ltd., introduced: "At present, the civil construction of Phase I has completed 90% of the workload. Since last month, the project has entered the equipment installation stage. Now the main equipment and installation materials have arrived one after another. As of this week, the installation workload has also been completed by about 20%. Phase I is scheduled to be completed and put into operation in June this year."
The project has a total investment of US$710 million and an annual output of 2.2 million tons of green polyester new materials. Speaking of the project's progress, Zhang Qiang told reporters that the biggest challenge is the construction schedule. The management of Kesen Group has high expectations for "China Speed" and assigned a construction period of only 16 months. However, the project adopts an entirely new process route to produce products, for which there is no mature precedent in China, and the design period alone requires 3 to 6 months. He said: "As a result, the time left for us for equipment installation, commissioning, and civil construction is relatively tight. Under such circumstances, we have joined hands with the Yangkou Port Management Committee to break with convention and actively seek policy support. After the review of the pile foundation construction drawings was completed, we immediately obtained the pile foundation construction permit. With the help of the policy of allowing pile foundation work to proceed first, we carried out piling while advancing the design work, achieving parallel progress of procedures and saving 3 to 6 months for the project."
As the largest industrial project invested in China by a Turkish enterprise, the Kesen project is not only a "new force" in the new material industry cluster of Yangkou Port, but also a tangible witness to the joint construction of the "Belt and Road" by China and Turkey. It is understood that after the project is fully completed, it will form an annual production capacity of 2.2 million tons of bottle-grade polyester chips, and after reaching full production, it is expected to achieve taxable sales of approximately 15 billion yuan.
