On February 28, the Department of Housing and Urban-Rural Development of Henan Province held the 2026 Provincial Construction Industry Work Conference in Zhengzhou, reviewing the achievements of 2025 and the "14th Five-Year Plan" period in provincial construction industry development, quality and safety supervision, science and technology, and standards, and arranging key tasks for 2026 in a bid to vigorously promote the quality upgrading of the provincial construction industry. Li Xinhuai, Member of the Party Leadership Group and Deputy Director of the Department of Housing and Urban-Rural Development of Henan Province and First-Level Inspector, attended the meeting and delivered a speech.

In 2025, a series of new achievements were made in various aspects of the provincial construction industry's development: the province's construction industry achieved a total output value of 1,259.3 billion yuan, up 3% year on year, ranking 5th nationwide and 1st in Central China in terms of growth rate; 50 provincial-level typical application scenarios and 18 typical cases of intelligent construction were cultivated and selected, and Zhengzhou, a national pilot city, cultivated 47 backbone enterprises in intelligent construction, 33 demonstration projects, and 5 intelligent production bases; new buildings fully implemented green building standards, local standards such as the "Henan Province Green Building Evaluation Standard" and the "Henan Province Green Rural Housing Construction Technical Standard" were issued and implemented, 74.31 million square meters of green buildings were completed, 3 two-star green building labels were certified, and 1 three-star green building was recommended to the state...

"This year is the opening year of the '15th Five-Year Plan,' and it is of great significance to do a good job in all aspects of construction industry development," Li Xinhuai said in his speech. In 2026, the provincial construction industry work should take promoting the high-quality development of the construction industry as the theme, providing high-quality construction products as the goal, and intelligent construction and green construction as the engines, promote the industrialization, digital-intelligentization, and greening transformation of the construction industry, advance the coordinated development of the entire upstream and downstream industrial chain, enhance enterprise competitiveness, deepen reform and innovation, strengthen scientific and technological empowerment, optimize approval services, strengthen market supervision, hold firmly to the bottom line of quality and safety, and strive to promote the quality upgrading of the construction industry.

Second, strengthen project quality and safety supervision. Deepen the tough battle for work safety, strengthen project quality supervision, and improve quality and safety management capabilities. Third, cultivate growth drivers. Make preparations for convening the provincial construction industry conference, promote transformation and upgrading, develop intelligent construction, and strengthen scientific and technological innovation. Fourth, promote green and low-carbon transformation. Advance the high-quality development of green buildings, continuously promote building energy conservation and carbon reduction, strengthen the promotion and application of green building materials, and actively promote the construction of "good houses."
