Since February 24, many key projects in Nanchang, including the North Second Ring Expressway, have officially pressed the "resume work button" and sounded the "charge bugle," embarking on a new year of construction with a down-to-earth approach.

When it comes to Nanchang's major urban infrastructure undertakings in recent years, one cannot fail to mention the "North Second Ring Expressway."

The project starts in Wanbu Town, Anyi County, within the West Second Ring Expressway, and ends in Nanxin Township, Nanchang County. It passes through Wanbu Town and Changjun Township in Anyi County, Nanchang City; Makou Town in Yongxiu County, Jiujiang City; the Ganjiang New Area; Qiaoshe Town in the Nanchang Economic Development Zone; Jinqiao Township, Xiangshan Town, and Lianwei Town in Xinjian District; and Nanxin Township in Nanchang County. The route has a total length of 52.01 kilometers, and along the route will be built the Nanxin Viaduct, the Ganjiang North Branch Grand Bridge, the Yuantoulong Bridge on the Nanchang-Jiujiang High-Speed Railway, and others.

The project began construction in December 2024, with a contract duration of three years.

At the construction site, various types of machinery and equipment are being started up one after another, with waves of roaring sound echoing across the site and an upsurge of work resumption surging everywhere, marking that the project has fully shifted into a state of intensive construction. The Desheng Bridge, as a key controlling project of the Nanchang North Second Ring Expressway, carries the important mission of improving the regional road network and boosting development. Resuming work is actually not as simple as everyone imagines. On the eve of resumption, the North Second Ring T2 Bid Project Department organized all personnel in an orderly manner in advance to carry out safety training, technical briefings, and other work, and conducted a comprehensive investigation of construction safety hazards.

At present, a total of 3,410 pile foundations have been completed along the entire line, with a completion rate of 67%; 1,298 pier columns have been completed, with a completion rate of 34%. Among them, the Desheng Bridge has completed a total of 357 pile foundations (out of 364), with a completion rate of 98.1%. It is planned to complete all main pier pile foundations in February; the Nanxin Hub has obtained approval for construction involving the expressway and is currently carrying out substructure construction of the bridge, with a total of 183 pile foundations completed (out of 452), a completion rate of 40.5%. A total of 29 pier columns have been completed, with a completion rate of 7.4%. Now, the project management personnel and the first batch of workers have all arrived and are in place.
