At the construction site of the Chenzhou–Guiyang section of the Guixin Expressway, the Chongling River Grand Bridge is moving forward at a brisk construction pace, sketching a new blueprint for transportation in southern Hunan. As a key controlling project, every step of progress on this bridge is closely tied to the travel expectations of residents along the route and the pulse of regional development.

According to reports, the main bridge of the Chongling River Grand Bridge is designed as a three-span structure, with a total length of 1,018 meters and a width of 26 meters. The bridge deck stands 70 meters above the riverbed. Since construction officially began in October 2025, the construction team has maintained a determined, problem-solving approach. At present, the 18 pile foundations on the west side of the main pier have been completed, and the 18 pile foundations on the east side are expected to be completed by the end of March, laying a solid foundation for subsequent cap construction.

The bridge is located in Section GXTJ-3 of the Chenzhou–Guiyang section of the Guixin Expressway. The main line is 28.08 kilometers long and connects four townships—Zhangshi Town, Renyi Town, Chonglingjiang Town, and Longtan Subdistrict. Along the route, 19 roadbed sections (totaling 20.88 kilometers) and 19 main-line bridges (totaling 7.2 kilometers) are planned. The project is expected to be completed and opened to traffic in 2028. By then, it will not only significantly ease traffic pressure in Guiyang County and make travel more convenient for residents, but also accelerate the transfer of resources within the region and inject strong momentum into local economic and social development.
