On January 25, Xi'an University of Architecture and Technology (XAUAT) held a strategy symposium themed "Focusing on a First-Class Green Building Discipline Cluster to Serve the Nation's Major Dual Carbon Strategic Needs," marking a new stage in the university's innovation and development in the green building field. Academicians from the Chinese Academy of Engineering and the Chinese Academy of Sciences, heads of leading industry enterprises, and high-level talent from related fields gathered to discuss how to deeply integrate the green building discipline with the national "dual carbon" strategy.

At the symposium, Zhu Xiaowei, Party Secretary of XAUAT, emphasized that breaking down traditional disciplinary and organizational barriers is key to advancing green building innovation. He noted that the university will fully unleash the potential of scientific and technological innovation through deep-level interdisciplinary integration, transforming it into a driving force for industrial upgrading and regional development.

Another important topic of the symposium was how to combine the green building discipline chain with the national strategy. Zhao Xiangmo, President of XAUAT, invited the attending academicians and experts to advise on the university's development direction and to clarify the connection points between the green building discipline chain and the national strategy, thereby advancing the university's "Double First-Class" construction.

The academicians affirmed XAUAT's achievements in the green building field and offered suggestions, including strengthening the commercialization of research outcomes, aligning with strategy implementation, and connecting with international frontiers, to help the university continue advancing in the development of first-class disciplines.

At the meeting, the university signed industry-education integration agreements with ten enterprises, including LONGi Green Energy and Huawei, to jointly tackle frontier technologies in fields such as photovoltaic buildings, the low-altitude economy, and marine engineering. At the same time, XAUAT unveiled and established multiple research institutes and innovation platforms to promote deep integration of industry, academia, research, and application.

In the future, XAUAT will take the first-class green building discipline cluster as a guide, deepen innovation in five major areas including green technology, intelligent construction, and ecological safeguards, actively respond to urban renewal and the "dual carbon" goals, serve the nation's intelligent construction and smart transportation, help build a new energy system, and provide support for deep underground space.
