As a key project of Lhasa's "One Road, Five Bridges" initiative and a major livelihood project for the fourth quarter of 2025, the High-tech Bridge project continues construction through the winter, with work advancing at full speed. As of early January 2026, the project has reached 50% overall progress; the bridge's substructure, including pile foundations, pile caps, and piers, has been fully completed, and the project is steadily advancing toward the goal of completion acceptance in March 2027.

The High-tech Bridge project is located between Lhasa River Sluice No. 1 and the Railway Rainbow Bridge. It starts in the north at Nongke Road (Binhe Road intersection), crosses the Lhasa River southward, and ends at the Shunhe Bridge on Liubin Avenue in Liuwu New Area. It is a key transportation link connecting Chengguan District, Doilungdeqen District, and Lhasa High-tech Zone. The project spans a total length of approximately 985 meters, including a 927-meter bridge section with a deck width of 35.5 meters. It adopts a flat bridge design with six lanes in both directions, connected to the north and south banks via at-grade intersections. The construction scope covers roads, bridges, traffic facilities, landscaping, drainage pipelines, intelligent lighting, and other specialized works, making it a comprehensive infrastructure project integrating transportation functions with ecological landscaping.

At the construction site, various large construction machines shuttle back and forth, while workers methodically carry out rebar tying, material transport, and other construction operations at their respective positions. A temporary construction access bridge spans the Lhasa River, ensuring the transport of construction materials and giving citizens an early glimpse of the convenient cross-river passage to come.
