On January 20, since the start of construction of the Changsha Third-Line Shiplock, part of the Xiangjiang Changsha-Chenglingji Class I Waterway Project, a key project of the national high-grade waterway network, the site saw its first snowfall, yet the machines continued to roar and hundreds of builders have not paused their work.

As of the end of December 2025, this national key project had completed a cumulative investment of 2.090 billion yuan since construction began, accounting for 65.2% of the approved total budget estimate of 3.203 billion yuan; the annual cumulative investment reached 974 million yuan, or 108.2% of the annual plan of 900 million yuan. Earthwork excavation and pile-anchor support for the shiplock's main foundation pit have been fully completed, with 130,000 cubic meters of concrete poured and 3.3 million cubic meters of channel dredging and reef blasting carried out. The shiplock joint commissioning center is basically complete, and the bridge anti-collision works, water intake relocation, metal structures, and vessel and navigation mark works are progressing in an orderly manner.
