On January 15, an important milestone was reached in the construction of the G4001 Link Line project, a major artery of Hefei's expressway network: the underground diaphragm wall construction for the launch shaft of Section 1 was completed.

The G4001 Link Line project is located in Shushan District and Luyang District, starting from the North Second Ring Interchange in the east and ending at the Bailianyan Road expressway interchange in the west, with a total length of approximately 10.6 kilometers. This implementation is the Section 1 project, starting from the interchange of West Second Ring Road and Qingxi Road in the east and ending at Kexuedao Road in the west, with a total length of approximately 3.8 kilometers and eight lanes in both directions; the shield tunnel section is approximately 2.9 kilometers long and is planned to adopt a dual-tube, double-deck configuration to pass beneath Dongpu Reservoir.

As the final reinforcement cage was precisely aligned and smoothly lowered into the trench, the underground diaphragm wall construction task for the launch shaft of the Section 1 project was successfully completed. The deep foundation pit retaining structure of the project has achieved full closure, and the shield machine has completed design and main component material preparation and has begun processing, laying a solid safety foundation for the efficient advancement of subsequent construction procedures and marking the project's entry into a new stage.

The G4001 Link Line is an important supporting project of Hefei's "five horizontal and seven vertical" expressway network system. Since construction began, the construction team has faced construction challenges brought by complex geological conditions. The completed underground diaphragm wall consists of 20 panels in total, with 509 pile foundations and a maximum depth of 34 meters. As the core protective barrier during the deep foundation pit excavation stage, its construction quality is directly related to the safety and efficiency of subsequent operations and is a key retaining structure for ensuring the steady progress of the project. With the achievement of this key milestone, the focus of project construction will officially shift to the foundation pit excavation stage, and subsequent construction procedures will be advanced in an orderly manner according to plan.

In the future, once the G4001 Link Line project is completed, it will build a new transportation axis in the northern part of the city, improve the road network structure of Hefei's main urban area, significantly enhance regional traffic efficiency, and inject strong momentum into the economic and social development of the northern area. At the same time, it will facilitate the connection between the western area of Shushan and the core area of the main city, and promote the coordinated development of western clusters such as the Canal New City, the High-tech Zone, and the Shushan Economic and Technological Development Zone.
