On the evening of January 9, Sunward Intelligent Equipment Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "Sunward") announced on its official WeChat public account that its independently developed high-performance rotary blasthole drill rig had been successfully loaded and shipped, officially setting sail for South America and soon to be deployed at a large local mining project. This marks the first time Sunward's rotary blasthole drill rig has entered South America's high-end mining market, signaling another key step in its overseas market expansion and adding further evidence of "Made in China" making deep inroads into the global high-end mining equipment market.

South America is rich in mineral resources, particularly noted for its copper reserves, but its mining operating environments are extremely complex, imposing stringent requirements on the performance of extraction equipment. It is understood that the large South American mining project where the drill rig will be deployed has some areas with extreme conditions such as high altitude, low temperatures and thin air, posing severe challenges to the stability of the equipment's power system, structural strength and low-temperature starting capability. "The core reason we passed the customer's multiple rounds of rigorous evaluation lies in the product's hard-core strength," Wang Jian, board secretary of Sunward, said in an interview with a Securities Daily reporter, noting that the company has been deeply engaged in the equipment manufacturing field for many years and has always taken technological innovation as its core competitiveness, and that the drill rig exported this time is a high-end product tailor-made for extreme working conditions.

According to available information, the SWDRT270B is a high-performance drill rig designed for medium and large mines and major engineering projects, with a drilling diameter range of 216 mm to 270 mm and a maximum drilling depth of 45 meters. It can operate stably in extreme temperature environments from -60°C to +50°C at altitudes above 5,000 meters, with drilling capability and operating efficiency both at industry-leading levels. In terms of technical configuration, the equipment embodies the concepts of high efficiency, energy conservation and environmental protection, and is equipped with an ore-rock interconnected data platform that enables precise operation and intelligent unmanned operation; the operator cab features double-layer hollow glass design with noise and heat insulation and has passed FOPS international safety certification, comprehensively ensuring operational safety and comfort; the entire machine adopts full hydraulic drive, with high torque and high rotation speed of the power head and sufficient axial pressure, and supports an adaptive drilling mode, capable of meeting the drilling needs of vertical holes, inclined holes and horizontal blast holes under various complex geological conditions, and can be widely used in diverse scenarios such as large metal mines, cement mines and coal mines.

Speaking about the strategic significance of entering South America's high-end market this time, Wang Jian told the reporter: "The international market has always been the development focus of Sunward, and the company has established multiple overseas subsidiaries around the world, with the Russian-speaking region, Europe and the pan-Asia-Pacific region all becoming core markets. South America, as a core production area of global mineral resources, is an important arena for high-end mining equipment. The successful export of the rotary blasthole drill rig this time is not only strong proof of the company's product competitiveness but also an important breakthrough for us in expanding the South American market. In the future, the company will continue to focus on the three major fields of engineering equipment, special equipment and aviation equipment, and further improve its overseas market layout by relying on a product system featuring high quality and high adaptability."

Regarding the industry value of this export event, Professor Cao Erbao, vice dean of the School of Economics and Trade at Hunan University, offered a professional assessment in an interview with a Securities Daily reporter: "In recent years, global demand for non-ferrous metals and energy minerals has continued to rise, driving rapid growth in South America's mining equipment market. Previously, this market was long dominated by internationally renowned brands, and Sunward's successful entry with its high-performance drill rig has broken the monopoly pattern of international giants."

Cao Erbao further analyzed: "The 'going global' of Chinese manufacturing equipment has shifted from low-end OEM production to high-end independent development, and Sunward's practice is highly demonstrative. Its core advantage lies in precisely matching technological innovation with market demand and creating customized products for South America's extreme working conditions. This model of 'technological adaptation plus scenario cultivation' provides a feasible path for China's equipment manufacturing industry to deeply participate in competition in the global mining market. At the same time, as a leading local equipment manufacturing enterprise in Hunan, Sunward's breakthrough in 'going global' will also drive the coordinated upgrading of the upstream and downstream industrial chains, helping Hunan's manufacturing cluster transform toward high-end and international development."
