Recently, the Hubei Province Green Geotechnical New Technology Exchange Conference was held in Wuhan. This conference focused on the green and intelligent development of geotechnical engineering, and built a high-level technical exchange and capability enhancement platform for registered geotechnical engineers across the province.

Xu Yangqing, a National Engineering Survey and Design Master, 18 industry experts and scholars from various parts of the country, as well as more than 200 enterprise technical backbones and university scholars attended the conference in person. At the opening ceremony, industry experts delivered messages one after another, emphasizing that green geotechnical engineering is an important development direction under the "dual carbon" strategy, and calling on registered engineers to actively embrace technological change and enhance their professional competence in the integration of industry, academia, research, and application.
The academic report session was exceptionally brilliant, with 18 thematic presentations covering multiple core fields such as geological disaster prevention and control, digital survey large models, ecological restoration, and intelligent monitoring. Professor Zuo Qingjun of China Three Gorges University explained in detail the intelligent prevention and control technology for geological disasters in the Three Gorges Reservoir area, providing new ideas for registered engineers to cope with complex geological conditions; Liu Xu of MCC Wukan introduced engineering survey report generation technology based on large models, helping registered engineers improve digital work efficiency; Liu Yanling of Wuhan Municipal Engineering Design Institute shared green support technology for municipal pipe culvert foundation pits, providing practical reference for registered engineers to optimize engineering design and reduce safety margins. These cutting-edge technologies and engineering cases provided valuable reference for registered engineers to broaden their professional horizons and strengthen their technical application capabilities.
In the exchange session of the conference, National Engineering Survey and Design Master Xu Yangqing systematically explained the theoretical connotation and practical path of green geotechnical engineering. He emphasized that registered engineers, as the core technical force of engineering construction, need to establish full-life-cycle green design thinking, actively integrate low-carbon concepts into survey and design, proficiently master carbon-reduction technologies such as prefabricated support and solid waste resource utilization, and incorporate carbon accounting into design considerations. Multiple experts emphasized that registered engineers need to balance technological innovation and engineering safety, and enhance their decision-making capabilities in aspects such as green technology selection and implementation of ecological protection measures.
The conference also arranged an exhibition of outstanding achievements, where new technology products such as prefabricated steel supports and lightweight intelligent monitoring equipment were showcased in a concentrated manner, allowing registered engineers to intuitively experience the practical application results of green geotechnical technology and providing vivid samples for technology transformation and implementation. Representatives of multiple enterprises stated that they will deepen cooperation with the registered engineer community and jointly promote new technologies from the laboratory to engineering sites.
The successful holding of this conference not only built a bridge for technical exchange, but also highlighted the core role of registered engineers in the development of green geotechnical engineering. In the future, our province will continue to build such high-level exchange platforms, promote registered engineers to enhance their comprehensive competence in technological innovation, engineering practice, ecological protection, and other aspects, and inject professional strength into the construction of "Beautiful Hubei" and the high-quality development of the construction industry.
