Recently, the foundation pit of Zhannan Road Station in Section 6 of the Ningyang Intercity Railway, constructed by China Railway 15th Bureau Group Co., Ltd., officially launched internal earthwork excavation under the full coverage and protection of a large foundation pit air dome, marking that the main structure construction of the station has entered an accelerated stage.

       Zhannan Road Station in Section 6 of the Ningyang Intercity Railway is an underground two-story island-type station, with a single-column double-span box-frame structure and local double-column triple-span sections. It has a total of 4 entrances and exits and 2 groups of ventilation pavilions, all constructed using the open-cut sequential method (with the cut-and-cover sequential method adopted for local sections crossing intersections). The station is an important intermediate stop on the Ningyang Intercity Railway, located in a bustling urban area with a complex surrounding environment, imposing extremely high requirements on construction safety, environmental protection, and noise reduction. To minimize the impact of construction on the lives of nearby residents and the environment, the project team innovatively adopted Jiangsu Province's first fully enclosed foundation pit air dome construction scheme. The air dome structure covering the foundation pit features large span, high strength, full enclosure, and intelligentization, acting like a giant "environmental barrier" and "safety net" that envelops the entire excavation work area.

       Inside the foundation pit air dome, not only can the outward spread of dust generated by earthwork operations be significantly suppressed, greatly improving the air quality at the construction site and its surroundings, but construction noise can also be effectively absorbed and isolated, achieving "silent" excavation. At the same time, the project team simultaneously optimized the 20-meter dome inclination angle to precisely avoid sunlight blockage and safeguard residents' "right to sunlight."
