On December 7, the Yunge (Xiongan) 500 kV substation, a key project in the national "14th Five-Year Plan" surveyed and designed by Hebei Electric Power Design & Research Institute (Hebei Institute), and the second newly built 500 kV substation in Xiongan New Area, was officially put into operation. This is an energy hub project serving the millennium plan and connecting green arteries. Its commissioning not only marks a critical upgrade of the backbone grid of Xiongan New Area, but also means that China has laid a solid cornerstone on the grand blueprint of building a new energy system and promoting coordinated regional development.

The substation is the starting point of the northwest power transmission channel of Xiongan New Area. To the west, it is closely connected to the 1,000 kV UHV Baoding substation; to the south, it directly enters the core load centers such as the New Area Business Service Center and university campuses through a double-circuit cable channel. After the project is put into operation, it will efficiently and reliably transmit clean energy from afar, such as solar energy from Inner Mongolia and wind energy from Zhangbei, to Xiongan New Area, laying a core foundation for this future city to achieve the goal of 100% green power supply, and also providing strong and clean energy support for the large-scale construction of Xiongan New Area and its undertaking of the relocation of Beijing's non-capital functions.

Since the launch of the project, Hebei Institute has fully leveraged its technical advantages in the field of EHV and UHV power transmission and transformation, not only ensuring the seamless connection of the project with the UHV grid and the smart grid of the New Area, but also deeply integrating the concepts of smart operation and maintenance and high-efficiency energy saving into the design scheme, turning the Yunge (Xiongan) substation into a modern hub with leading technology and reliable operation, fully demonstrating the company's strength and sense of responsibility.
