Recently, the China Electric Power Construction Association announced the results of the 2025 Green Construction Demonstration Project selection. The Guangxi Huadian Hechi Nandan Shankou 200MW Wind Power Project, undertaken by the Guiyang Engineering Corporation, was awarded the Three-Star Green Construction Certification of the power industry—the highest honor in this field. This certification marks a new height for China's high-mountain wind power projects in green construction.
It is understood that the Green Construction Star Rating is the most authoritative green certification system in China's power industry, covering comprehensive assessment across the entire process from green planning, design, and construction to handover.
The Guangxi Huadian Hechi Nandan Shankou 200MW Wind Power Project is located in Nandan County, Hechi City, Guangxi, and is a major energy project coordinated and advanced by the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region. The project has a total installed capacity of 200 megawatts, distributed across the ridges of five towns in Nandan County, and is equipped with 40 wind turbine generators with a single-unit capacity of 5 megawatts. The project also includes the construction of one new 220 kV booster station, more than 110 kilometers of on-site roads, eight collector line circuits with a total length of more than 120 kilometers and 304 towers, and a transmission project with a line length of 55 kilometers and 105 towers. The project achieved its first grid-connected power generation in December 2024 and successfully completed the hoisting of all wind turbines in April 2025, laying a solid foundation for subsequent full-capacity grid-connected power generation.
As a typical high-mountain wind power project in karst terrain, the project team of the Guiyang Engineering Corporation innovatively applied a series of green construction technologies and systematically advanced green construction practices: in the planning stage, the layout of wind turbine locations was optimized to avoid ecologically sensitive areas; in the design stage, low-carbon construction process plans were introduced; in the construction stage, an intelligent environmental monitoring system was applied to dynamically control pollution factors such as dust and noise. Through full-cycle refined management and control, the coordinated advancement of clean energy development and ecological protection has been achieved in the karst mountainous areas of northwestern Guangxi.
After the project is fully put into operation, it is expected to save approximately 102,300 tons of standard coal per year, reduce carbon dioxide emissions by approximately 242,700 tons, and reduce sulfur dioxide emissions by approximately 4,583.73 tons. At the same time, the project will also reduce annual smoke and dust emissions by approximately 45.54 tons and nitrogen oxide emissions by approximately 817.85 tons, which is of great significance for optimizing the regional power grid structure and achieving energy conservation and emission reduction goals.
