On November 20 local time, the opening ceremony was held for the Nouakchott five-star hotel project in Mauritania, undertaken by PowerChina Port & Waterway Engineering Co., Ltd. Mauritanian President Mohamed Ould Cheikh El Ghazouani attended the ceremony and cut the ribbon.

President Ghazouani highly praised the professionalism and contract-fulfillment spirit demonstrated by PowerChina in the project construction. He noted that the completion and opening of the Nouakchott Sheraton Hotel is an important milestone in the development of Mauritania's hotel industry, and has a significant impact on enhancing the country's international image, promoting tourism, and advancing diversified economic development, fully demonstrating the government's determination to improve infrastructure, attract foreign investment, and promote people's livelihood. It is worth mentioning that this is the second time this year that President Ghazouani has presided over the inauguration ceremony of a project built by the company, powerfully reflecting the Mauritanian government's recognition of PowerChina's engineering quality and brand strength.

It is reported that the project is Mauritania's first international-brand five-star hotel, located in the core area of the capital Nouakchott, with a total site area of approximately 63,000 square meters and a planned 164 exquisite guest rooms and 34 luxury suites (including two presidential suites). Integrating high-end business, international conferences, and star-rated accommodation, the hotel marks a key step forward for Mauritania in urban development, tourism reception capacity, and internationalization level.
