On November 18, the Manang Marsyangdi Hydropower Station in Nepal, a landmark project of Sichuan Province's participation in the Belt and Road Initiative and a priority project of China-Nepal power cooperation, completed concrete pouring for the left bank of the dam and the first pour of the main works of the powerhouse, marking the project's official entry into a new stage of main-structure concrete construction.
Following the successful diversion and closure on November 1, joint acceptance of the foundation surface and pour blocks was completed by the owner and the consultant, and the first concrete pours for the dam spillway gate and the powerhouse catchment channel retaining wall were completed on the same day. To ensure the smooth first pour of the main works, the project department formulated excavation plans for critical paths and sections, and completed in advance preparations including concrete mix optimization, commissioning of construction equipment, arrival and acceptance of embedded parts, and mobilization and training of construction personnel. Technical standards and quality control measures were strictly implemented throughout the process to ensure controlled pouring quality.
The Manang Marsyangdi Hydropower Station is located in the Gandaki region of Nepal. It is a Class III medium-sized diversion-type hydropower station with an installed capacity of 135 MW, a planned construction period of 42 months, and an expected annual power generation of 712 million kWh after commissioning. The project consists of the headworks, the water conveyance system, and the powerhouse complex.
At present, the project department is comprehensively advancing various works, including concrete for the dam and powerhouse, tunnel excavation, and the fabrication and installation of metal structures and electromechanical equipment. The project team will adhere to high standards, high efficiency, and strict requirements, continuously optimize construction organization, and strictly control quality and safety to provide strong guarantees for achieving the power generation target on schedule.
