On November 19, the "Huanbei Guangxi No. 3" hard rock tunnel boring machine (TBM), developed by China Railway Engineering Equipment Group (CREG), rolled off the production line at its Luoyang base and will soon be deployed for the tunneling task of Section A3 of the Beibu Gulf Guangxi Water Resources Allocation Project (hereinafter referred to as the "Huanbei Guangxi Project").

Attending the rollout ceremony were Tang Xianqiu, General Manager of Guangxi Water Resources Development Group Co., Ltd., and Mr. Meng Shiqian, Deputy Director of the Construction Management Department; Cen Xuewen, Commander of the Huanbei Guangxi Water Resources Allocation Project; Su Lijun, Head of Design Supervision of Changjiang Design Group; Chen Ronghua, Deputy Director of the Hydraulic Engineering Institute of Guangxi Water and Hydropower Design Institute; Liang Nianzhong, Chief Supervision Engineer of the Project Supervision Office of Guangxi Guiyu Engineering Consulting Co., Ltd.; Zhao Liqiang, Deputy General Manager of Sinohydro Bureau 6 Co., Ltd., and Deng Linan, General Manager of its Central China Company; and Zhao Zhenwei, Deputy General Manager of CREG.

The "Huanbei Guangxi No. 3" TBM has an excavation diameter of 3.1 meters and a tunneling length of 8.16 kilometers. The machine integrates multiple advanced technologies and possesses excellent geological adaptability. The Huanbei Guangxi Project has a total water conveyance line length of 491.10 kilometers, and its main works employ a total of 7 TBMs for tunneling, of which CREG supplies 4, with a total tunneling mileage of 43.02 kilometers.

As an important backbone project of the national water network construction and a major livelihood project of water conservancy construction in Guangxi, the Huanbei Guangxi Project, once completed, will serve the core city cluster of the Beibu Gulf—including Nanning, Beihai, Qinzhou, and Yulin in central and southern Guangxi—providing solid water resource support for the region's high-quality development.
