Recently, two national standards in the crane field led by Zoomlion were officially released by the State Administration for Market Regulation and the Standardization Administration of China. The two standards are deeply aligned with advanced international technology, both achieving alignment with global crane technical standards and leading domestic industry development with precisely adapted technical specifications.

The two national standards drafted under the leadership of Zoomlion are GB/T 45680 "Cranes - Wind load calculation" (ISO 4302:2016, MOD) and GB/T 20863.2 "Cranes - Classification - Part 2: Mobile cranes" (ISO 4031-2:2020, IDT).

Identical adoption of international standards builds an "international yardstick" for mobile crane classification

According to reports, the GB/T 20863.2 standard adopts the IDT (identical adoption) transformation model to fully incorporate the core technical content of ISO 4031-2:2020, directly introducing the internationally recognized mobile crane classification system into China. Compared with the old version, the new standard achieves three major breakthroughs in classification logic: first, it adds the principles of classification, clarifying the starting point of working cycles and job tasks; second, it adds the number of working cycles corresponding to the whole-machine use class and the whole-machine working level, making the classification more detailed and improving its operability; third, it adds classification of components and mechanisms, providing a basis for classifying the components and mechanisms of mobile cranes.

By incorporating new technological achievements, the new standard achieves full alignment with international standards. The implementation of this standard not only provides a unified "international yardstick" for domestic product R&D, testing and acceptance, but also completely resolves the technical barrier problems previously faced by export products due to standard differences, helping Chinese mobile cranes become fully globalized.

Modified adoption with precise adaptation creates a "Chinese solution" for wind load calculation

The other standard led by Zoomlion, GB/T 45680, builds on ISO 4302:2016 and carries out targeted optimization in light of China's complex terrain and meteorological characteristics, forming a wind load calculation solution that combines international advancedness with local applicability. The standard both retains the scientific core of the international standard and, through localized adjustments, achieves precise guidance for wind load protection of domestic cranes, providing more reliable technical support for equipment safety under extreme weather.

The core breakthroughs of this standard lie in: incorporating wind speed characteristic data from China's seven major climate zones into the calculation model, replacing the internationally common average wind speed parameters and improving the accuracy of wind pressure calculation; supplementing correction formulas for local wind fields in onshore areas, offshore areas and islands, resolving the limitations of international standards in special terrain applications; and clarifying the adaptation requirements for anchoring devices when wind speed exceeds the design value, forming a technical closed loop with domestic standards such as GB/T 31051 "Cranes - Anchoring devices for working and non-working states".

During the drafting of the two standards, Zoomlion, aiming to "align with international standards and lead domestically", played a key coordinating role and adhered to scientific and rigorous principles, systematically reviewing domestic and foreign technical materials. This ensured both the accurate transformation of the core technologies of international standards and the full absorption of the practical experience of domestic enterprises, ultimately forming technical achievements that are "based on international standards and centered on China's needs". At present, the two standards have been officially released and have entered the implementation transition stage.
