Recently, Kenyan President William Ruto inspected the site of the Kenya KPLC Last Mile Connectivity Project, in which Hubei Engineering Company participated as a contractor. During the visit, President Ruto was briefed on the latest progress of the project construction and fully affirmed the project's achievements and the performance of PowerChina. The Cabinet Secretary of the Kenyan Ministry of Energy attended the event.

Ruto stated that with the joint efforts of both China and Kenya, the project has advanced rapidly, not only fulfilling the Kenyan government's commitment to its people but also demonstrating the strong momentum of China-Kenya practical cooperation in driving development.

The Kenya KPLC Last Mile Connectivity Project is an important livelihood project implemented by the Kenyan government to boost economic growth, raise employment rates, and improve residents' access to electricity. It is also a rural power distribution network project carried out by Kenya Power and Lighting Company (KPLC), which will effectively address the power supply problem in rural areas of Kenya and genuinely improve the quality of life of local residents.

The project covers 11 counties in Kenya. By concentrating on extending and upgrading the distribution network, it brings electricity truly into villages and households, solving the "last mile" problem of rural power supply. Hubei Engineering Company undertook four lots—Lot 3, Lot 7, Lot 9, and Lot 15. Once successfully implemented, the project will cover electricity access for 80% of residents nationwide in Kenya, providing strong support for the country's economic and social development.
