On November 14 local time, the Irrigation Area No. 5 project under Lot 2 of the Kyrgyzstan Irrigation System Rehabilitation Project, undertaken by Sinohydro Bureau 16 Co., Ltd., was officially completed and handed over. An engineering representative of the Talas Region Construction Committee of Kyrgyzstan presented the handover certificate to the project department, marking the project's official entry into a one-year warranty period starting November 15.

The project is located in the Karabuura District of Talas Region, Kyrgyzstan. Its main scope of work includes the rehabilitation of the Bakhyt dam and a 16.9-kilometer main canal, the construction of a new 1.618-kilometer Bakhyt main canal, and a new 25.3-kilometer Noka main canal. The completion of the project's rehabilitation has added 380 hectares of new irrigation area for local residents, raised the irrigation guarantee rate for 2,500 hectares of land, and directly benefited 1,030 people, injecting strong momentum into local agricultural development and livelihood improvement.

Since construction began in March 2021, the project team has faced numerous challenges, including the COVID-19 pandemic, price increases caused by the Russia-Ukraine conflict, farmland irrigation periods, and winter construction. Rising to the difficulties, the team organized scientifically and managed meticulously, successfully overcoming all obstacles and ensuring the project was delivered on schedule.
